Entry #3: I Ate Bread All Over Berlin

I went to Berlin last week, and not just to eat bread, but to cheer on my marathon-running husband. We went for 8 days and I probably ate 1 to 2 small gluten/wheat items a day. I did take a gluten digestive enzyme before eating the bread and I did totally fine digestive-wise. However, I noticed my heart racing a lot, which isn’t typical for me. It happened mostly at night while laying in bed – probably 4-5 times in total. My pulse would be around 75 BPM and thudding, whereas it’s usually 65 BPM and doesn’t feel like it’s going to leap out my chest. I don’t know if this was my body working harder to digest the gluten or if it had to do with the time change. Who knows. But I’m back to my regular No Gluten Gal lifestyle. Because of my improved symptoms, that Gliadin IGG blood test, and now this odd heart anomaly, I’m not interested in pushing the envelope. Life is good!
